Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Are you accepting film and screenplay submissions for your 2009 season?
A: YES!
Q: What are your deadlines and fees? ?
A: July 21st, 2009 is the deadline.
The fee for shorts which is anything below 45 mins. is $15
The fee for feature length, which is anything above 45 mins. is $20
Screenplays are $20 dollars.
Q: I Know everybody in the biz. Can I get in free!
A: No. This is one of our biggest pains. Somebody comes up and says to one of us that they know one of our guest's or that that work for one of the horror magazines or media outlets on the web. Now we don't have a problem giving out media passes to legitimate members of the press and those who are doing a serious feature for the magazine television show etc. Otherwise go put up your own money and spend your own $20,000 and get in for free.
Q: My film may be too much for your audience to handle.
A: Not likely! Submit it, we haven't turned down any GOOD ones yet.
Q: Do the guests charge for their autographs?
A: This question seems inane to us. Yes of course they do. the price ranges from $10 to $20 per autograph. No picture stealing either. You can take pictures if you pay the guests otherwise please refrain from being a soul stealer.
Q: Does it cost anything to get in?
A: Dumb question. Sure it does. Our price is $20 dollars a day before the show and $35 for the whole weekend which includes everything. The day of the show ad $5 to the tally of each.
Q: When do tickets and passes go on sale?
A: The tickets are on sale now. Order quickly. This year is gonna sellout for every special event and some are limited. Hurry get'em now!
Q: Where should I book a motel/hotel room?
A: We recommend you first stay at the host hotel the Crowne Plaza Hotel Louisville. There is a link attached for you - plus you get rewards for booking at that hotel.
Q: Are all the special guests guaranteed to be present at the festival?
A: As you may know every festival and convention would love to guarantee everyone will make it but due to professional and personal commitments a few make not make it. Let's not forget the possibility an Act of God or something could keep them from appearing. Every guest we bring is under contract.
Q: Is your event wheelchair accessible?
A: Oh yeah!
Q: Any words of advice for your visiting attendees?
A: Have fun but remember don't bring alcohol in if you didn't buy it at the festival, no illegal drugs or firearms permitted on premises. No refunds for any reason at all. Don't pester the festival staff about special privileges or such nonsense. Everyone is special at our festival. If you need something just ask! No nudity in the main area. Keep all XXX items behind curtains or cloths at your booth. We aren't responsible for your loss. Party like theres no tommorrow, but please leave the hotel intact. We want a good relationship so we can keep putting on these great events. Bootlegging is against the law. If you get your material confiscated by authorities, not our problem.
